Stretching helps greatly in preventing muscle injuries. Low to moderate intensity stretching exercises are effective in reducing post-exercise muscle soreness, says Raghav Pande

As we keep getting older our muscles tighten and daily tasks like bending over to tie shoe laces, zipping up the dress or even reaching for a can on top of the shelf becomes difficult and it only gets worse if you don't stretch regularly. People of all age- groups can benefit from stretching as it helps you to increase your range of motion of muscle, correct your posture and even enhance blood circulation.

People with sedentary lifestyle especially those who have desk jobs are at a very high risk of getting a back pain and it can be avoided or even treated with simple stretching exercises. Lot of people also neglect stretching in their workout routine, if neglected for long end, result could be a bad injury.

Benefits of stretching are numerous to people who exercise regularly. It contributes greatly in preventing muscle injuries (strains, sprains, and pulls), low to moderate intensity stretching exercises may be effective in reducing post¬-exercise muscle soreness. Stretching should be a part of your daily routine, whether you exercise or not.Points to keep in mind while stretching: Stretch the muscle to the point of its greatest range of motion, but do not overextend. You should feel very minimal Tightness /discomfort (but not pain). Avoid holding your breath since this increases blood pressure and general muscular tension.
