Dear Biradari Members,

Namaskar

As general elections in the country are coming closer and closer, the political scene is hotting up Almost all political parties are bound to exploit the Kashmir problem, according to their own perspectives, to garner votes. One thing bound to be common to the political parties. would be to ponder to Muslim votes by projecting Kashmini Muslims as the victimised party There will be lot of hue and cry about supposed violation of the human rights of Kashmiri Muslims and it can be very safely predicted that none, barring one or two, will touch upon the plight of the Kashmiri Hindus who have been subjected to the worst kind of violation of human rights and rendered refugees in their own country.

The most dangerous portend will be the attitude of the ruling Congress(1). In their blinding love for power and the burning desire to hold on to it, this party is expected to come out with bizzare proposals which, according to them, would grant everything to Muslims of Kashmir 'short of Azadi' I believe national integrity and security will be the greatest casualties in the ensuing elections. One cannot help but feel concerned at the fact that the current 'Hawala' scandal had started by discovery of huge payments through this channel to the Kashmiri fundamentalist terrorists No one is now talking about that, putting the entire question of national security into serious jeopardy What can one say about the availability of such a source of huge funds which caters to the terrorists on the one hand and politicians of all hues across the board, on the other This nexus between the politicians, the anti-national elements. and the 'hawala' operators characterize the true situation prevailing in our country today.

Coming back to Kashmir, it is well known that the various terrorist outfits, secessionist organisations including the high sounding All Party Hurriyat Conference are flush with funds The Organisation of Islamic Countries has pledged huge funds Reports are that Moulvi Umar Farroq, the Chairman of Hurriyat Conference had collected millions of rupees from various Islamic countries, during his recent foreign tour, to help the cause of Kashmiri Muslims Can one expect government which is deeply tainted with receipt of foreign funds to probe into such inflow? Certainly not.

It is in this context that the role of our community becomes all the more important. We owe it to ourselves and to our compatriots to keep pressure mounting for exposure of all such nefarious deals. We cannot remain mute witnesses to all that is happening and we, too, must take advantage of the hotted up political atmosphere to make the countrymen aware of the seriousness dangers ahead of them. We have to explain to them that 'saving Kashmir is saving India. History is providing us with an excellent opportunity to be of service to Mother India. We must not shirk from it.

True! we are passing through yet another winter of discontent. But if one discontent acts as a catalyst to reawaken this country, I think it would all have been worth it. We are history's midwives and let us endeavour to deliver our great country, with a great Hindu civilization, into a future of hope, peace and prosperity. If the Indian ethos survives, we survive. Let us prove to our countrymen that we are history's chosen men.
