The month of September is a pious month for the Hindu community marked by the celebration of "Nav Durga-nine Days" of continuous devotion and prayers to the divine feminine. On this auspicious occasion, KSD extends heartfelt wishes to the community. With our continuous prayers "Maa Durga" will end our collective exile and bring new chapter filled with our hope and harmony. Martyrs Day Kashmiri Samiti, Delhi Observed Martyrs Day on 14th September 2025 at Arya Samaj Hall Lajpat Nagar, Amar Colony New Delhi. The community members came from different parts of Delhi NCR to observe the Balidan Divas in memory of the Martyrs who laid down their lives at the hands of the Islamist Jihadis from 1990 to date and paid floral tributes to the martyrs who stood for the great values of Sanatan Dharma, Nationalism, Democracy, Freedom and equality. The speakers highlighted the immense sacrifices of the Martyrs. At the outset the members laid flowers at the martyrs feet, observed 2 minutes silence and held a devotional prayer. Speaking at the occasion, the President of Kashmiri Samiti Shri Sumeer Chrungoo reiterated the demand of the community to recognize the brutal genocide of the Kashmiri Pandits and set up a judicial tribunal to try the culprits involved in the gruesome killing of the Kashmiri Pandits. Shri Rajinder Premi son of the martyr Sh. Sarvanand Kaul premi a noted writer and a social activist, laid stress on building a KP Martyr Museum at least in each metro city and pass resolution to reverse all sale deeds made after 1990 to this date. Include a chapter in NCRT Book on the KP Martyrs and make public the details of Shri Tikka Lal Taploo Awas Yojana proposed for the rehabilitation and resettlement of Kashmri Pandits. Shri Ashotush Taploo son of Martyr Sh. Tikka la Taploo laid emphasis on giving equal space to each Martyr and recalled that no sacrifice should go unnoticed and ignored, because the life that was lost is equally valuable and important. Shri Kundan Kashmiri, Dr. L N Dhar, the senior leaders of the community while remembering the Martyrs and paid rich tributes, insisted that the Actual tribute to Martyrs will be meaningful only when we will get a safe and secure homeland, without the threat of Islamic Jihadi extremism and onslaught, which only a separate homeland can ensure. Shri Lalit Ambardar while paying rich tributes to Martyrs, emphasize the need of broadening the scope of the struggle by taking it deep into the hinterland of India and integrating it with the Sanatani Hindus than making it a limited fight of a specific community, because the problem is not limited to Kashmiri Pandits alone but has larger dimensions and overtones. It is immaterial whether the solution happens now or even generations afterwards as in case of the Jews. Shri Ramesh Manwati and MK Bhat (Nirdhan) spoke about preserving the age old traditions and customs of KPS for safeguarding the same our Martyrs laid down their lives. At the end emphasis was given to the enshrined rich culture and civilization for upholding which our Martyrs had laid down their life. Relief Shri Sumeer Chrungoo, President attended the meeting convened by the Principal Secretary to Hon'ble CM Delhi on 20th Sept 2025 to discuss the issues related to the monetary support for the relief beneficiaries. Shri Sumeer Chrungoo President was also called for unofficial meeting on 27/9/25 by the Revenue Department DC(HQ)-II Office of the Commissioner to discuss the mode of monetary support to be provided to the relief holders and the procedure to be followed for the Addition/ deletion of family members of the relief cards in Delhi NCR. These meetings have proved to be fruitful as per the press reports published in the national newspapers. The historical gesture of Smt Rekha Gupta Hon'ble Chief Minister of Delhi, her Cabinet and pivotal role played by the Hon'ble Home and Education Minister of Delhi Shri Ashish Sood in removing the income ceiling of Rs. 26,800 and the introduction of a special opportunity scheme allowing rectification and updating the family records without penalties or recoveries has brought immense relief and festive cheer within our community. The Government's compassionate decision has infused a new sense of dignity and reassurance among more than 1800 Kashmiri families who have been living in exile in Delhi for over three decades. Construction of Kashmir Bhawan The construction work of Kashmir Bhawan is progressing steadily day by day. The fixation of windows and doors in the first floor have been completed by Veka firm and the fixation of windows to the second floor will be completed shortly. The Material for the plumbing work has been collected and the work is currently in progress in the bath rooms of the building. Work for installation of tiles in the bath room is also underway and is expected to be completed shortly. The electrification in the first floor is also in the final stages. The KSD team is actively monitoring and coordinating the significant progress being made during the development phase of the building. Regular assessments and supervision are helping to maintain the momentum of work and uphold the standards expected of the important project. On 11th October 2025 Greh Pravesh ceremony by performing Pooja was held in the newly constructed Kashmir Bhawan, conducted by a learned Pandit Ji. The executive members were present on the sacred occasion. Naveed was also served to the staff, executive and life members who attended the event. Every one appreciated the dedicated efforts that went into the construction of this dream project. It is expected that the KSD office which is presently functioning from the Arya Samaj Mandir may be shifted to the new building shortly which can save us the expenses being incurred as rent to the Arya Samaj Mandir for occupying their one room for office purposes.
