Punish the enemy

- Punish the enemy

Tarun Vijay

I saw a few tweets and news clips describing with an unhidden glee that the dreaded terrorist of Mumbai attacks- Daud Ibrahim is infected with Corona. Pray that he recovers. He deserves to die with the bullets of our security men or brought back to Mumbai and hanged.

What kind of a nation we are where the attackers on our people and soldiers roam free or for the time being are in their own domain and we are forced to fight a war on our soil, almost daily and our boys lay their lives on a battle field within our territory with such a recurring frequency that people forget about them. Forget their name and their sacrifices -do not become a matter of discussions among common people , among the elite , in normal regular political discourse.

Israel’s iron lady, Prime Minister Golda Meir used to say on Israel’s military successes: Our secret weapon: No alternative.

Do we , Indians, have an alternative but to punish in an exemplary way our enemies who have been bleeding us since the days of Qasims and Gazhanavis ?

What kind of a nation we are where the killers of our four Indian air Force personnel roam free for years and it takes thirty years to frame charges against the ghastly killers and terrorists ? Can you see the pain hidden in the words of Sq Ldr Ravi Khanna’s wife Shalini, who was killed by Yasin Malik- “Yasin Malik not only murdered Squadron Leader Ravi Khanna but also murdered my mother-in-law, my father-in-law and my mother. Childhood of my two small children was lost and our happiness was snatched away in a second. This terrorist turned our world upside down,” Shalini Khanna told media.

The attack on the IAF men took place on January 25, 1990 at Rawalpora, Srinagar when terrorist fired on them injuring 40 and killing four.

The latest example is Twitter india’s abrasiveness towards Indian patriotic people. Every one knows how politically ill willed tweeter India is towards an ideological section of the society. Two incidents happened in a short span of time. One was blocking @trueindology account for uploading an original quote, taken from a book published by Indian Council of Historical Research that showed Akbar ’s happiness on killing thousands of Hindus. Twitter India took a ‘punitive action’ why ? None dared to ask it .

The second one, almost in a row was to block @Amulcoop account for uploading two very beautiful, strong banners showing the famous cute Amul girl asking Chinese to stop- “ Chinee Kam. And in second one to resist the dragon .”

They were so good and powerful that even a million fiery speeches and a million hard hitting articles couldn’t have converted that these two simple ad-banners conveyed. Amul is just not a milk cooperative, a butter and curd company. It represents the soul and fragrance of Indian soil. Restricting it, rebuking it for being Indian, for being a patriotic citizen supporting the soldiers fighting the enemies on the border is a cardinal sin, an unpardonable crime for which Twitter India must be punished.

Taking any action against Amul is like demoralizing the patriotism and insulting our soldiers. It is as simple as that. So far, twitter hasn’t even apologized to Amul.

People, often secular and the de-Indianised elite may say “ But the Twitter India. Is peopled, manned by Indians. Yes but they work for a foreign company whose headquarters are in America . It has nothing to do with the Indian sensibilities and feelings.

The British empire in India as well as the munshis, chowkidars, darbaris, mansabdars during moguls were all Indians , Hindus. But they worked for a foreign power who had nothing to do with the Indian soul and society’s Dharma.

If India doesn’t take action to protect the honour of those who live and die for her, if Indian authorities do not feel angry at those who insult the tricolor , if we do not shame those who shame us for being patriotic then we are not worth this great nation. We fail India. And we abuse our motherland.

Its the time when we must all get rid of this internet colonialism. The foreign based internet platforms, all are taking away the data wealth of Indian and help foreign agencies do a profiling of Indians for various political , military purposes. They play havoc with our security. Forget Doklam or Ladakh. The cyber security issues have become so lethal that from within any colossal damage can be inflicted upon us.

I have been demanding in Parliament since long to get rid of the google empire, and other foreign data collectors and begin with our own internet servers and platforms replacing twitter, FB, WhatsApp and Tiktok. We have the expertise, we have the manpower and the infrastructure. The only thing we lack is the will.

The National Informatics Centre is a wizard agency that has already been doing a huge gigantic digital work for the government. All Vedio conferences of the top Government leaders from prime Minister to the defence minister and other ministries are handled by it. It is providing email services to all MPs, govt staff and various departments that are fool proof and safest. The Video app is a wonderful one that is fully encrypted and is handled, run managed by Indians. Why cant we entrust the job to develop a replacement to twitter and google services to it / Once we have to trust the already trustworthy agency that is so efficiently run by Indian scientists and software engineers.

It is the right time when the people must start innovating and using the Indian apps for all their communications. Lets hope a new digital era will dawn upon us that will be free from internet colonialism and announce a true internet independence for India.

Yes, as I quoted Golda Meir- there is no alternative to it. Be Indian, be vocal on Indian apps.
