Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday highlighted India’s resilience in the face of global instability, particularly the ongoing crisis in West Asia, which has disrupted energy supplies worldwide.

Speaking at a public gathering in Vav-Tharad in Gujarat, he said, “India has remained united and stable despite global challenges. While many countries are grappling with war, instability and soaring fuel prices — with diesel and petrol rising by 10 to 25 percent even in superpower nations — India has kept the situation under control through its successful foreign policy and the unity of its people.”

He also criticised the Congress, saying it was spreading fear and misinformation to create panic and exploit the situation for political gains.

Modi urged citizens to remain vigilant and united, recalling India’s ability to overcome crises, including during the Covid-19 pandemic. “India has the strength to face challenges and continue progressing on the path of development,” he asserted.

During his visit to Gujarat, Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development projects worth approximately Rs 20,000 crore spanning energy, roads, railways and housing sectors.

Reflecting on his 25-year association with the region’s development, Modi said the chain of progress that he had helped initiate as a CM had continued uninterrupted and strengthened further by the current government since 2014.

Earlier in the day, Modi inaugurated the Kaynes Technology semiconductor plant in Sanand, marking the start of production. He asserted that the move strengthens India’s position as a reliable global semiconductor supplier.

Modi said the facility represents a major step toward building a resilient global semiconductor supply chain. “In the coming days, many Indian companies, through global collaboration, will give the world a reliable semiconductor supply chain,” he added, emphasising the ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ vision.

Highlighting the plant’s global integration, Modi noted that the facility would supply intelligent power modules to a California-based company, with a significant portion of output already earmarked for exports. “A new bridge has effectively been built between Sanand and Silicon Valley. The modules made here will reach American companies and power the world,” he said.

Modi also inaugurated the Samrat Samprati Sangrahalaya, Jain Heritage Museum, at Koba Tirth in Gandhinagar. “Koba Tirth is steeped in spiritual tranquility, a place where the tapasya of many Jain Munis and saints finds expression, and where creation and service naturally blossom,” he said.
