May Give Up My Baby For Adoption
What if the pregnancy is the result of rape? Would it be bad karma to give that baby away? Conception is a joint venture, not only between man and woman, but also with the incoming soul. Compared to how often people have sex, conception is an infrequent occurrence. The karma of the incarnating soul is an essential part of the equation. Giving upa child for adoption is not in itself bad karma. It depends on why the parents are doing it. Sometimes the mother decides alone, but the father also has responsibility Most biologically mature men and women can conceive a child, but that doesn't mean the yare able to raise one. For a child conceived in violence, adoption would be an obvious choice. Terminating a pregnancy is a difficult decision, but rape is a time when it certainly could be considered. Children conceived by people quite young are often better off raised by more mature adults. It might be good karma for teenagers to think first of the child's welfare, and not be swept away by emotion. The incoming soul knows the conditions into which it is being born. Master says when the sperm and ovum unite, there is a flash of light inthe astral world. Souls who are in tune with that light, and ready to reincarnate, respond to the possibility of entering that womb. Obviously, the biological parents have karma with the incoming soul, otherwise it would not feel drawn to that particular flash. It is not unreasonable to think, though, that the karma might only be for the soul to obtain a physical body and that the joint karma of parents and child could end at birth. The child's lifelong karma may be with the adopting family. Perhaps the biological parents will come back into the picture, but there is no reason they must. Think how many times the soul incarnates in its long journey to Self realisation. Each time there is a mother and father, plus, perhaps, adoptive parents, stepparents, surrogates. We live through every permutation. Each has lessons to teach. In truth, the 'child'is not a child at all, but a soul. The body has age; the soul is ageless. A new incarnation does not mean a clean slate. The conditions of each birth are a perfect reflection of what that soul needs to progress spiritually, based on the accumulated karma of all the lives coming before. Same for the mother and father. Conceiving a child they can't (or don't want to) raise them, exactly the karma they nuclear whatever lesson is next. The lessons and the learning a entirely personal.
