This springs from a lack of self-sufficiency, a feeling of inadequacy. The solution is to drop selfishness. Learn to love your family members for what they are. Accept them as they are. Do not try to change them, particularly kids. A coconut seed can only grow into a coconut tree. It cannot transform into a mango tree because you want it to. Expand your circle of love. Identify with a larger cross section of people. The Rig Veda says the whole universe is one family. True love enables you to build powerful teams of people who work together for you and your cause. The desire for worldly things is insatiable. The more you acquire, the more you want. The intellect helps organise your desires.
